    5. Objectives -  PSY seeks to provide students with prime national opportunities to demonstrate their talent, nurture competitive spirit and scientific research aptitude, and empower high-achieving learners through dignified awards, official recognition, and financial scholarship support

Importance -The PSY examination is the best option for students because it is the only school-level assessment designed with the examination system of the Public Service Commission (PSC) in mind. Like the PSC examination, it consists of two stages: Prelims and Mains. Furthermore, selected candidates are given the opportunity to participate in the 'PSY Advanced' level.
Apart from the PSY examination, there is no other test conducted within schools that follows this particular system.

    PSY Art and Research Competition

This competition consists of two stages-

    • The first is the preliminary stage (in which the candidate must prepare an artwork or research project at home or at school. A total of 15 days is provided for this; the duration is calculated from the date of application—meaning the candidate must upload their research or artwork online or send it via email within 15 days from the day they submit their online/offline application. Please refer to the brochure for this session for the updated procedures regarding email submission and the overall submission process.)
    • In the second stage, selected candidates are required to create their artwork at the designated center. This can take one of two forms: either you will be asked to recreate the same piece you submitted during the preliminary examination, or you will be given a new, impromptu topic on which to create an artwork. Please refer to the prospectus for this session regarding any changes or updates to the rules.
    • In the second phase, research candidates will be invited to the center to document facts related to their research; they must also bring their research paper—pertaining to their specific subject—to the center and submit it to the evaluation committee.
    • Please note that candidates selected in the first phase must undergo a verification process for the second phase. This process is very simple: you just need to visit the portal, enter your registration number, and provide your consent via a declaration form, confirming that you wish to participate in the next phase of the examination in accordance with the prescribed rules.
    • In the first and second phases, as well as in other 'Medha Shikhar' competitions, candidates are required to declare that they are participating in the examination in accordance with the rules set by the PSY Board. Under all circumstances, the Board's rules shall be considered final and binding upon the participant. This rule will apply to all examinations conducted by PSY.
